Study: Community College Students Fail to Achieve Bachelor’s Degree
A recent study by The Century Foundation found there is a growing inequality between students at two-year and four-year institutions. Despite the fact that nearly half of the collegiate population attends community colleges, only 11 percent of those students go on to earn a bachelor’s degree, according to the report. The report cites the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program as “especially innovative” for its efforts to bridge the gap between these two categories of students.
