Anya Keys
Associate Director, Scholarship ProgramsAs Associate Director of Scholarship Programs, Ms. Keys manages and oversees the team of educational advisers and the day-to-day operations of the Young Scholars Program. Since joining the Cooke Foundation in 2013, Ms. Keys has been a manager and senior educational adviser, supporting Cooke Young Scholars and their families throughout their educational journeys.
Before joining the Foundation, Ms. Keys taught, advised, and mentored students at Eastern Senior High School in Northeast Washington, DC, where she also served as English department chair. Ms. Keys began her career with Teach For America (TFA), teaching English and creative writing to ninth and tenth grade students in Revere, Massachusetts, just northeast of Boston.
Ms. Keys received her B.A. from the University of Virginia in French language and literature as well as women and gender studies; she received her M.A. in curriculum and teaching from Boston University.
