Paola Tinta
Senior Educational Adviser, Young Scholars ProgramAs a senior educational adviser, Paola provides academic advising and access to educational opportunities to the Foundation’s Cooke Young Scholars Program.
Before the Foundation, Paola served as a therapeutic counselor for over 10 years in Northern Virginia, supporting and mentoring youth with varying educational, psychological, and emotional challenges. As a consultant, she has evaluated youth education programs both domestically and abroad, including for the Education Development Center in Honduras and Edu-Futuro’s college preparatory initiative in Virginia, a recipient of one of the Foundation’s Good Neighbor grants. Additionally, she founded two youth programs of her own, one a mentoring initiative called Líderes, connecting Baltimore inner-city Latino youth with Hopkins undergraduates, and most recently, Teen Experience USA, a cultural and educational summer program for international youth.
Paola holds a B.A. in international studies, psychology, and French from the Johns Hopkins University, and an M.A. in International Development with a focus on education and youth from the American University School of International Service.
